Michelle Magdalena Maddox is a professional commercial and fine art photographer and editor of Magdalena Magazine, a unique limited edition arts / activism publication focusing on ecological restoration and human rights with a feminine gaze. The artfully crafted publication is in its second edition, taking years to produce as a one woman show. This issue titled, “REGENERATION” features a beautiful insight into the local Esselen Tribe of Monterey County’s recent LANDBACK successes as well as a sustainable fashion feature on Peruvian actress and activist Nat Kelley in a melange of meaningful stories about women’s issues, food, poetry and art. Magdalena’s career kicked off with an education at Brooks Institute of Photography before the 70 year old historic school closed due to predatory lending and an economic crash in 2008. Her focus on the darkroom has led to a successful career as a fine artist, teaching workshops in the past with Kim Weston and Ken Parker. Her mentor Ryuijie also tighter her the platinum printing process with which Magdalena produced two fine art portfolios. Magdelena magaine website >
