Melina Meza loves to inspire and be inspired. Nature is by far my most consistent source of awe and inspiration and the place where she finds the deepest sense of belonging.
In nature, her muse comes alive with the company of the great elements—space, air, fire, water, and earth.
In addition to her work as a photographer, she’s been teaching yoga, Ayurveda, and nutrition for over 25 years. Since 2009, taking pictures has become a daily practice for Melina, like meditating or doing yoga. She believe that being creative is food for the soul and is as important as eating a well-balanced diet. Her images are not attained by casual observation but rather by a meditative process of discovery that invite you slow down, awaken your curiosity and feelings about what you see, and open you to the magnificence of each subject.
Melina’s images invite you into her breathtaking world illuminating familiar subjects in fresh new ways.
This Poetic Nature collection captures many of my most intimate encounters with the great elements (earth, water, fire, air and space), joy, spirit and creativity. It is a wellspring of what happens when I go beyond the more traditional portrait or landscape photo to explore what can happen when I play with motion, texture or light.
Images in this collection may make you feel like you’ve walked into or are waking up from a dream, or perhaps seeing the spirit of a place in a way you never have before.
Soft, dreamy interpretations of landscapes, plant collages, and abstract nature images invite you to let your imagination roam and wander.
May these images cause you to slow down, awaken your curiosity and feelings about what you see, and open you to the magnificence of each subject.
“The earth is art, the photographer is only a witness.”
