In Memory of Paula Riff

We are saddened to say goodbye to Paula Riff, a cherished member of the Center for Photographic Art family. This incredibly talented and universally loved artist lost her battle with cancer on February 6, 2021. Paula’s unique images were on view in multiple shows at the Center for Photographic Art, including the Winter Blues contemporary cyanotypes exhibition. Paula’s laughter, love, and legacy will live on in our hearts and her photographs will continue to resonate.
The Center for Photographic Art and Lenscratch have created the Paula Riff Award as a way to celebrate and continue the legacy of this revolutionary artist. Paula was an innovator, using lensless photography and historical processes to create objects of remarkable beauty. This award will be given every year on Paula’s birthday in July.
