Become a volunteer or a docent at the CPA !
“My involvement began at CPA with a move to this area and my desire to connect with the photographic community, so what better place to start then at CPA! I began as a volunteer in 2013, helping out at the receptions and being a docent in the gallery. I can honestly say, I get back so much more than I give by being actively involved with the volunteer program. Prior to the opening receptions, being able to listen to the artists speak about their work during a private docent talk, and having that one on one time to ask questions, is a very enriching experience. I also enjoy the wonderful camaraderie within the organization, and the shared love of the art of photography keeps me coming back.”

We have three volunteer programs: gallery docent, general volunteer, and special skills volunteer. You are welcome to participate in as many programs as you like. After a brief training, gallery docentsgreet visitors to the gallery, offer insights into the current exhibition, and answer questions about CPA. General volunteers assist with the planning and hosting of our enjoyable events, such as artists’ opening receptions, workshops, lectures, Members’ Nights, and various fundraising events. Special skills volunteers work in more specialized areas such as exhibition installation and de-installation, light office and administrative duties, copy writing, community outreach, and web development.
To become a docent or volunteer you must be over 18 years old and:
